The Tir Na n Og restaurant is another phase in the development plant for Fintra Bay, Killybegs by Glenbourne Developments. The sixty seater restaurant is squarely aimed at the tourist market, and to this end firmly emphasises the fishing and cultural history of the area. However the team behind Tir Na n Og also want local people to have somewhere different to eat within an interior environment where they can enjoy images from their beautiful coastline. The interior is most certainly as departure from the norm in this neck of the woods. Some of the design inspiration has come from the Irish legend of Oisin in the Land of Youth (Tir na n Og in Irish). With so much emphasis these days on European style restaurants and New York influenced bars, it's undeniably refreshing to encounter a venue that draws deeply on our own native culture. Tir na N Og goes to show that sophistication and a Celtic theme are perfectly compatible bedfellows.
